What is a DOI or Digital Object Identifier?

DOI stands for Digital Object Identifier. The Digital Object Identifier system for digital media has been designed to provide persistent and reliable identification of digital objects. Every ACS Journal article has a DOI, which uniquely and persistently identifies that content.

The DOI System was created by the International DOI Foundation (IDF). More information on the system is available at the DOI Web site.

To search via DOI, you may type or copy and paste the DOI number in the yellow box area on the ACS Publications website, and click Search. On the page that subsequently loads will be your search result.
