Now that ACS is planning to launch a chemistry preprint server, will all ACS journal editors allow the submission of preprints to the journal?

The editorial decision--making with regards to the acceptance of preprints as a submission for publication in a journal lies with each journals’ Editor. Each ACS Editor will review his/her policy, consult with his/her editorial team, and make necessary adjustments (if any) prior to the launch of ChemRxiv. Note: The ACS Journals Publishing Agreement stipulates that authors may submit submitted versions of their works to repositories including preprint servers for non-commercial purposes, provided it does not violate the ACS Ethical Guidelines to the Publication of Chemical Research, that authors include a statement pointing to the final published article (if accepted for publication), and that the journal editor agrees that this does not constitute prior publication.
